At 12 years old I did my first portrait in graphite; it was a native\u003cbr\u003eAmerican woman, and I completed it as a gift for my grandpa. He had it on his wall and was so proud of it my whole life. After he passed when I was 34, my aunt returned that portrait to me and I was grateful that he had kept it for all those years. That single portrait solidified my belief that my art can touch people in ways I was unaware of.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs I raised children, I set my artwork aside for many years and found my way back to it after my children grew up. I rediscovered the fulfillment of the process of creating and\u003cbr\u003efound that I see and express things in a deeper way as a woman who has experienced\u003cbr\u003ethings in life.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eMy first love in art was portraits and figure drawing. My main medium was graphite and\u003cbr\u003echarcoal, and I continue to be a portrait artist of humans and pets. I now also work with\u003cbr\u003eacrylic paint, colored pencils, and pastels to show the vibrant beauty that I see in the\u003cbr\u003enormal everyday scenes around me.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThank you for viewing my art and allowing it to be a part of your world.
